HBK Iowa Office featured in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier

June 21, 2016 – Cedar Falls, IA HBK’s Iowa City office assisted in preparing concept plans for proposed improvements to the Center Street Dam and Gateway Park Dam in Cedar Falls, IA.  One option calls for white-water features in the river at Gateway Park to replace a deteriorating and hazardous low-head dam along with bank improvements. HBK Honored at Chicago Commons Annual Board Meeting

On Tuesday June 21st,  Chicago Commons held their Annual Board meeting as well as their 122 year of serving Chicago.  Program participants, Yvette Vargas and GeVonna Fassett, shared touching stories on how Chicago Commons and their early education and senior care programs have changed their lives. Agents of Hope 2016 Awards Dinner

The Agents of Hope 2016 Award Dinner hosted by Gilda’s Club took place last night at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago.  This year Mesirow CARES and Dr. Stewart Goldman from the Ann & Robert H. 2016 EAARA Golf Outing and Scholarship Luncheon

On June 4th HBK was a proud sponsor of the Exelon African American Resource Alliance (EAARA) Golf Outing. Each year the EAARA recognizes African American college students with $1,000 scholarships. Last year they awarded 24 scholarships and their goal this year is to award 25 scholarships to honor EAARA’s 25th Anniversary.

HBK Impact: Chicago Clean and Green

On Wednesday June 1st, HBK employees volunteered at our first Chicago Clean and Green. Clean and Green is an opportunity for neighbors to clean and beautify areas in their neighborhood. Volunteers came together for a cleanup outside out Carroll St. office. They picked up trash in the area and pulled weeds. Together our volunteers cleaned up over 25 garbage bags from the surrounding area.
