HBK “Spreads the Love”
HBK’s Iowa City office collected 54lbs of peanut butter and jelly over the course of a month in February. The Crisis Center asked its community to help “spread the love” to help fill their Food Bank shelves.

Why PB&J? Healthy, high-protein foods are some of the hardest items to keep stocked. Meat products are expensive, rarely donated, and difficult to store. On the other hand, a single jar of peanut butter costs just a couple dollars and can provide multiple meals to help a family in need get through the week. We also ask for jelly donations, as it’s peanut butter’s perfect sandwich partner.
