One Million Degrees is dedicated to empowering low-income students attending community colleges to succeed in school and in life. The program provides academic, financial, professional, and personal support to students to put them on a degree earning track. Last Saturday HBK joined Nicor Gas, Intren, and many more companies to support the Quad County Urban League Harvest Gala Auction. The Quad County Urban League’s mission is to help secure equal opportunities for all disadvantaged persons and people of color, including African Americans, women and persons with disabilities.
On Wednesday June 1st, HBK employees volunteered at our first Chicago Clean and Green. Clean and Green is an opportunity for neighbors to clean and beautify areas in their neighborhood. Volunteers came together for a cleanup outside out Carroll St. office. They picked up trash in the area and pulled weeds. Together our volunteers cleaned up over 25 garbage bags from the surrounding area.
