WEN Chicago Shayla Atkins Event - Lead with S.P.I.C.E.

Backed by data and lived experience, Shayla Atkins empowered and equipped members of WEN to disrupt the status quo by leveraging their authenticity as their unique competitive advantage. Our HBK team was so grateful to attend this event hosted at the Chicago ComEd offices and come away with tangible tips and inspiration to Lead with S.P.I.C.E.! Thank you to the WEN Chicago Chapter for putting together a motivational evening.

Construct Company Overviews

It was truly inspiring to witness the fresh faces of students, Class of 2024, during ComEd's Construct Company Overview. We were honored to showcase all things HBK alongside other participating companies. We're excited to see this round of students grow and dive into the industry.

Denver Habitat for Humanity: Mountain View

Two of our HBKers in the Denver Office headed out to Aurora, CO, to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and help build a new home. With the guidance of their construction supervisors and a group of other volunteers of all experience levels, together they got outside for a full day of activity to build a home for a family in need. We're grateful to be involved in creating such an incredible and lifelong impact on someone's life!

Black Employee Network (B.E.N.) Black History Month Events

HBK is beyond excited to announce its newest employee resource group (ERG), the Black Employee Network (B.E.N.). During the month of February and in alignment with Black History Month, B.E.N. hosted its first two events ever: its Kick-Off Event and Black History Month Trivia. We are proud to encourage and support our employees and provide the space and resources for them to thrive. We cannot wait to watch B.E.N. evolve throughout its first year!

MSI Black Creativity Events: Gala and Career Showcase

This month, HBK was delighted to join Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry for two of its Black Creativity events: the Annual Gala and Career Showcase. The Black Creativity Program at MSI celebrates African American achievement in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. Our attendees and volunteers were grateful to support this incredible program and share the world of engineering and HBK with others!

DVIP Souper Bowl

HBK was honored to sponsor and volunteer with the Domestic Violence Intervention Program at its 27th Annual Souper Bowl, supporting vital services for victims, and survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Volunteers helped serve soup throughout the event to attendees to taste test and sample.

Mitzvah Circle Donation Drive

Our East Coast offices donated items to support Mitzvah Circle and help families facing a crisis by providing basic material goods, including clothing, essential household items, hygiene items, and more. Additionally, our Impact program was proud to match our team's receipts and submit a monetary donation to further aid Mitzvah Circle and its vision of a world in which kids and their parents have access to the everyday, essential items many people take for granted.
