HBK’s National Volunteer Week- Habitat for Humanity Meal Provider

HBK’s East Coast volunteers spent their lunch break making lunches for construction workers who were volunteering their time at a Habitat for Humanity site. This was a unique opportunity to give back to the construction workers who are giving families a safe and healthy place to grow. HBK is a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity across all HBK locations.

HBK’s National Volunteer Week- Mercy Home for Boys and Girls Sundae Bar

HBK IMPACT volunteers partnered with MZI Group, Inc. for a sundae bar at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. Earlier in the day volunteers created cards for the kids encouraging them to finish school strong for their last quarter!         Later, volunteers spent time with the kids distributing the cards and serving ice cream sundaes. HBK runs the Sterling Bay 5k to 1k

On April 15th, despite the weather, HBK employees put on their running shoes for the Fourth Annual Sterling Bay 5k to 1k Neighborhood Run. Chris Kyle Frog Foundation

On Saturday, April 14th HBK attended the second annual Gala to benefit the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation (CKFF) at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. The foundation was launched in honor of American Sniper Chris Kyle by his wife, Taya following his passing five years ago to carry on his legacy. The CKFF is dedicated to serving military and first responder marriages. We honor those who serve our country

2018 Construct Graduation

On April 13th HBK attended amongst other agencies, labor unions, and partnering companies the 2018 Construct Graduation at UIC campus. We wish the best for each graduate in their future! CONSTRUCT is an nine-week training program offering up the information and guidance needed to compete for good-paying, entry-level jobs in construction-related fields. WEN Speed Mentoring & Networking Event

Yesterday,  the Women’s Energy Network (WEN) Chicago hosted a Speed Mentoring & Networking Event at the Mid-America Club. Collegiate women in STEM fields at the IIT Technical Institute were invited for “speed dating” and got a chance to meet individually with a mentor for 15 minutes at a time, moving around to make as many connections as possible. HBK Packages 28,296 Meals for Meals for Heartland

On Saturday April 7th, employees from our Iowa City office spent the morning packaging 28,296 meals for Meals for Heartland. They packaged go out for delivery to starving people locally and around the world. Thank you to all the HBK volunteers who helped the mission of Meals for Heartland to empower people to save the starving!

HBK Got in the Game

On Monday March 26th, 6 HBK employees sat on a leader panel to discuss their career pathing with the teen leaders from Girls in the Game. The day started off with an ice breaker to introduce the  leaders to leaders followed by interview questions. Over lunch teen leads networked with panelist and toured the HBK facility. WEN first Professional Development Event

Yesterday HBK participated in WEN’s first professional development event that took place at the GTI facility. Members and non-members were invited to tour the GTI facility, network, and listen to Marge Anderson, EVP of Seventhware. Ms. Anderson discussed “A Squiggly Line: The Vocation of Leadership for Women” and opened the floor to questions.
