HBK golfers participated in El Valor’s Annual Golf Outing at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park, IL. HBKers joined ComEd and Electric Conduit Construction employees, among others, for the day of golfing and networking to support the nonprofit community-based organization. A highlight of the event came during the banquet when a child who was a part of El Valor’s transitional housing program shared his experience of moving into a newly built home and how appreciative he was for donors support of the organization.
El Valor, meaning “courage”, from its roots in the Hispanic community, serves over 4,000 children, adults with disabilities, and their families annually. The multicultural, multipurpose organization has four Children & Family Centers, a Technology Center, a Vocational Development Center and six Community Residence Home for adults with disabilities. In addition, El Valor programs work with families throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.
